This energy passes through our ecosystems through food chains firstly through plants as they convert sunlight to starch and sunlight for growth (This is photosynthesis).
But for plants to survive and thrive and provide healthy and abundant produce they do need more than the sun. Water

Plants have a process called photosynthesis that enables them to take carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere and combine it with water then using the energy of the Sun, plants make sugars and oxygen molecules.
